Tis the season
This blog makes me happy to write.
I guess it is because it includes two things that make me happy.
There is a spirit that this time of year should bring out in all of us. The spirit of giving, of sharing of joy and goodwill.
It delights me when improvisation companies work together be it a festival or a project.
In Melbourne on the weekend of Dec. 9, 10 and 11th both of these collide.
Three improvisation companies are all contributing to a weekend of festive impro joy to aid charities.
On Friday night The Big Hoo Hais holding A Very Hoo Ha Christmaswhich I am delighted to be performing in.
On Saturday night my company Secret Impro Theatre is holding the Variety Bon Bon Xmas Spectacular. A top night of impro, music, song, dance and sketch! We will be donating a portion of ticket sales to A.W.A.R.E Dogs Australia as well as doing a collection for the food bank. I am directing and performing in this show and I am so excited just like a kid at Christmas!
The Sunday night Impro Melbourneis holdingImpro Unwrapped. This show encourages audience members to bring gifts which are used in scenes and then later donated to St. Vincent dePaul’s. I will also be performing in this - yeah me!
If you are in Melbourne please make the effort to see all of these shows and launch yourself into Christmas in a state of delightful delirious joy.
If you are not in Melbourne, how about make a donation of whatever size and in whatever way then post here so we can keep the impro gift giving train a going.
Thank you.
