Scene work impro course for Impro Melbourne.
Scene Work is the natural next step for students who have successfully completed Narrative and Character.
In Scene Work students use the skills they learned in Narrative and Character, then piece them together in creating scenes. In this class you will have more time working with the Narrative tools and playing from your character’s point of view in creating a scene in game structures, short form, open scene work, solo scenes and monologues. Additionally, you will learn how to build on the narrative, how to apply stakes and identify whose scene it is, and how to find endings.
Near the end of term, your class will share what you’ve been exploring in a student showcase for family, friends and the other Impro Melbourne classes happening on the same night. Performance is encouraged, but not mandatory.
Prerequisites: Impro Melbourne’s Spontaneity, Narrative Technique and Character workshops.
